The big news was that Marcia joined me in Santiago for 4 days.
We spend some real good time. The weather was fantastic, and I was really missing her.
She brought full motorcycle gear to join me in the final part of the trip, from Quito to Bogota.
I had the motorcycled serviced for 10.000km in the BMW dealer, and when arriving at the hotel, it suddendly went dead..... strange.... I tought was gas, but the range meter was marking 100km, and there was gas noise in the tank. A mechanic arrived, and after 2 extra liters in the tank , the Bruuuummmm of the engine was there again.
We got all dressed up , left the hotel , and after 2 blocks it was dead again..... in the middle of Santiago Traffic, all geared up for a travel, me and Marcia......No Good, No Good....
The lucky part was that we were 1 block from a gas station, on a slightly downhill, so i basically sailed down, fill up the tank, and bruummmm again.. The moral of the History: Do not Trust the Range meter.
On a GS Adventure the safe distance to travel is 450 km!
